We are inviting our registered faith/belief communities to join us for a series of brand new webinars! Each webinar will focus on one vital need for resettlement after prison (such as housing, health or education), the barriers to access and community-focused solutions. We will be joined by expert guest speakers from organisations, prison chaplaincy members of faith/belief communities and by prison leavers themselves.
This series will build your faith or belief communities' knowledge and understanding of:
- The pathways to resettlement
- Resettlement barriers faced by prison leavers
- Structural inequalities experienced the prison leaver community
- How faith or belief communities can support resettlement
- Signpost information to support services and resources
The first webinar is: Mental Wellbeing Awareness in Prison and Release on Tuesday 6th May @19:30 on Zoom in support of Mental Health Awareness Week 2025
People in prison are more likely to suffer with mental health conditions than the general population and often face numerous challenges when released, which can lead to social isolation and have devastating outcomes. So how can faith or belief communities be part of the solution? The theme for the 2025 Mental Health Awareness Week is ‘community’, as being part of a safe and positive community is recognised as vital for our mental health and wellbeing.
Join us as we discuss this important topic with guest speakers with first-hand experience of prison and resettlement. Learn the issues and break down the stigma attached to prison and mental wellbeing, while celebrating the power and importance of community.
